I've been through boarder crossings from Thailand to Cambodia, and taken long drives down 3rd world country roads, but this was by FAR the worst ride I've ever taken. Spend the extra € and go with another company.

After 15 minutes had passed, he left 3 people who were smoking right outside the bus. No warning, no notice beforehand to let them know he was leaving. He just shut the doors and pulled away, with them staring unbelieving outside. A woman, who had 2 daughters outside, had to run up and plead for the driver to stop. He just yelled "15 MINUTES I SAID," and kept going. She literally had to beg "PLEASE sir, don't do this!" before he stopped, and let the people outside, who were running to catch the bus, back on.

As we were getting on, people on the bus were pushing past us to escape. This seemed strange to me, but I didn't think about it much, as I was happy to be finally boarding. One of them yelled out, "I need to WEE!" At the time, I thought it was kind of funny.
The next time we stopped for gas, I waited by the door, and when the driver saw me, he threw his hands up and said "PROBLEM?" I said, "Yeah I got a problem! I need to use the toilet!!!" Fortunately my lovely girlfriend was there and spoke in Deutsch so he could understand, at which point he said we'd stop in 15 minutes, for 15 minutes. And he meant it.
The toilet was broken (so they said, the door was locked), so we were limited to the bathroom brakes the bus drivers allowed. This was a 12 hour ride from Brussels to Ulm, so you'd expect at least a stop ever few hours or so, but this was not the case.
And for the next 10 hours, there were no stops for bathroom breaks. Well, not for us. Another time the driver stopped, he shut the doors first, and then took a pee behind some bushes, but no one else was allowed.
The first time we stopped to pick up passengers, I got up to see if we had time for a bathroom brake. The driver didn't understand what I meant by "toilet," and when I asked when we would stop next for the bathroom, he yelled "STOP?!?! NO STOP!!!" and I couldn't get anything more out of him.
Finally, when we got out in Ulm, a passenger who was booked for Stuttgart had had enough, and wanted out. The baggage handler would not give him his luggage until he paid him an extra 10€ for letting him out early.
Well, they were half an hour late, for starters. We had no warning that they'd be late, so we waited for more than an hour to board.
